Bananas and Sleeping

Dan and I started feeing Lewis bananas this past Friday.  We thought he would love them since it was the first thing he's eaten that had any flavor.  We were wrong.  Here are the two funniest pictures we got of the "Banana Experience". . .

After a couple more meals of bananas Lewis finally started to like them.  I now mix them with his rice cereal to cut down on the sweetness.  I still laugh out loud when I look at these pictures.

Lewis' sleeping pattern has gotten a little weird lately.  He'll go to bed at about 8:30, sleep until 5:30ish and play in his crib for a while before getting huffy and wanting food.  I usually feed him around 6:00 and then put him back in his bed where he plays and talks to the giraffes before going back to sleep until anywhere from 10:00 to 11:00.  I refuse to let him sleep past 11:00, I've had to go and wake him up a few times.  Because he's sleeping so late, he doesn't nap until really late, if at all.  This picture is when I went to wake up him from his nap at 6:00 pm today.  He managed to turn himself around and roll over.  I guess he had to pull his knees up because he's too long to fit that way in the crib.  He'd been asleep for an hour and half in that position.  Once I saw it, I immediately ran to get the camera so I could show Dan when he got home from work.

(notice bald spot is getting bigger, not smaller)

Father's Day

This was Dan's first Father's Day and I decided that it was definitely appropriate to dress them alike.  They're both wearing their light blue polos with khaki shorts.  It was really funny to see them together since they look so much alike.  We started off celebrating Father's Day at Adam and Jessica's house in Murfreesboro and when we got there, Dan's dad was wearing a light blue shirt and khaki shorts as well.  You would have thought I planned it (I only planned Lewis and Dan).

After leaving Murfreesboro we went to my parents house to celebrate with them and both sets of my grandparents.  Lewis loves to be with his great grandparents!

Rolling Over!!

On Thursday morning I went in to check on Lewis because it was 10:30 and he hadn't woken up yet.  Now, he hadn't slept through the night like he usually does, he had woken up at 4:00 wanting to eat.  This past week he's been waking up early in the morning wanting to eat and I really want him to go back to his old way of sleeping until 9:00.  I don't know if he's teething or what, but he's not cooperating with my sleep schedule!!!  Anyway, I went to check on him and this is what I found . . .

He obviously had rolled over onto his belly sometime during the night and fell asleep.  Since this was the first time he rolled over from his back to his belly I had to take a picture and the flash from the camera woke him up.  Now he can roll from his back to his belly and then roll onto his back again!!

Also, notice the huge bald spot on the back of his head.  It's pretty big because he lays in bed and doesn't stop moving his head from side to side.  He just wants to look at everything.  Little hairs have started to grow back and they're kind of prickly.  You can also see the black ribbons that he manages to find every night no matter how hard I try to tuck them away.

More Water Baby

In the last post I tried to upload a video of Lewis going under water but after an hour of waiting for it to actually finish uploading I quit and gave up.  Well, I just posted the video to YouTube so if you click on the link below it should take you to the video.  The video is two and a half minutes but Lewis being dunked is in the first minute.  My next challenge is to figure out how to edit video using iMovie.  I'm pretty sure if it weren't such a big file it would have uploaded when I tried the first time.  Enjoy!!

Water Baby!

Lewis got in Grandma and Grandpa's pool for the first time yesterday and we didn't have the camera to take any pictures.  He was too cute in his pool float.  He even had such a good time in the pool with his uncle Jason that he fell asleep in his float in the pool!!  We went back to the pool today so we could get some pictures.

All Lewis wanted to do in his pool float was to chew on the little blow up ball that came with it.  He couldn't have cared less about splashing in the water.  Dan and I were feeling brave and we want Lewis to love being in the water so we decided it was time to dunk him under.  He was a trooper and didn't cry at all, he acted scared when he came back up but we were all cheering so he must have realized he did something good.

New Toy and First Time at the Pool

Dan and I bought Lewis a new toy this week.  He looks super cute when he's playing in it.  His feet don't quite touch the ground but when they do he'll be able to bounce in it.

Here are a few pictures of Dan and Lewis at the pool in our neighborhood.  Lewis didn't really react to being in the water.  He just kept sucking on his hand and looking around at all the people.  We thought that his first time in the pool would have been a little more exciting but at least he didn't cry.

Here's me and little man.
